How much trust do you have?

Ok, I just ordered the RX65 (alot more than what I originally wanted). It should be here in a couple of days.
I only hope its worth what I paid for it.
Any comments?

It is well worth the money. I guareentee you will be impressed with its performance. Make sure you turn KA band to USA...it will be factory set on INTL. If you do this you will get better KA band detection range

V1, X50, RX65 > Bel STi > mid-range Bels (RX55, V995), Escort Solo S2 > Whistlers, low-end Bels (795, 895) > PNI > Crapra > squirrel taped to your dashboard with its nuts hard-wired to the fuse box > Unidung, Radio Shack, etc.

That's a very rough sketch. Considering your price range and situation, I'd hang on to the Crapra until the GOL tests on the new Whistlers are complete (you guys are testing the XTRs, right?), then decide between the XTR series and the Pro-58/73 models. Whistler definitely sounds like what you want.

Also agree with you and what others have said... it seems whistler would be the best for this situation (or the $60 Bel E795 if you get a good one).

If you like to speed faster in a town that you know does not have laser, you might want to think agian. They can buy a costly laser gun quickly. Most would let their guard down in this instance. Which is a very very bad idea. Once you are speeding and they nail you with a laser gun, you will have which you slowed down to a more acceptable speed.

This is the basis on how I speed with my detector.

Heavy Traffic - Highway - 10 MPH over the Limit
Light Traffic - Highway 15-20 MPH over the Limit
Areas that I have plotted Police running radar - 10 MPH over the limit.
Heavy Traffic - City - 5 MPH over the Limit
Light Traffic - City - 10 MPH over the Limit.

Hi, glad to be a member of this forum.

I just bought a cobra radar detector for $150 and hope it works well, I probably should have saved and got a better one but I'm a little impatient.

My question is, how much trust do you have in your radar detector?
And how often do you speed with it compared to before?

One more question, what should I expect from a $150 detector and is it enough to bet a ticket on it?

I trust my 65 a lot. But I try not to speed. I didnt buy it to speed (try explaining that to LEOs)

I had the cobra xrs 9500. Came home the first week, a cop was lasering me for at least a 1000' and it didnt even go off. Took it back to wally world and started doing research. Its how I found this place.
