510 STOCK is perfect cuz it's cheap and they work great. Don't spend any money on it after that as it is a total waste of cash! CBs are vary effective now as we are at the bottom of the sunspot cycle. That's why you can turn the squelch clear down to zero and still hear hardly any hash. That's how you hear folks that are some distance away and get some usefull warning! In the next 5 years as the sunspots increase you will have to increase the squelch higher and higher till you will have it set so high people just blocks away just break in. CB band is a great tool now but it does not last but a few years and then your money spent is wasted!

Truck stops have all kinds of CB radios, CB microphones, antennas, GPS, etc. Check it out.
    Thanks

question : is this set up good enough to use as a counter measure?
    2) how big is the risk of scratching with a mag mount?
    3) is there any where i can buy a "package" from that will ship me both the cb and antenna tuned?
If you get a sample from one of those car cover companies and they do give them out for free you will have no problems with scratching. Just use the small patch and put the antennna right on top of it.

Do NOT do that without first checking your SWRs. Many times putting ANYTHING between your antenna and your car will raise you SWRs to dangerous levels and kill your performance.

The magnetic base to the Wil will not do any more damage than a "Support Our Troops" ribbon magnetic.
