Use a 6v cig lighter power cord and pull it apart and hardwire it where you want it..
coll But if I remove the cig lighter part is that not what controls the 6v?
I think what he means is, pull it apart, take the guts (the printed circuit board) out, and hardwire it to your liking.
Here's a thread with pictures of the 'insides' of a cigarette lighter adapter.

cool thanks for the clear up
I run mine with an AC power inverter instead of DC. Same inverter runs my laptop, camera system, and antenna multicoupler.
ya those are cool i had one in my old car.
I have one of those 2-way cigarette lighter splitters. I hard wired it in, plugged my stuff into it and fastened it under the dash.
Quick and dirty but it works.
You could also just hardwire... another cigarette lighter. Mount it under the dash or some other inconspicuous location.
That's what I'd do, because I'm lazy.
good ideas I was just installing my viper alarm in the car and made a female 2 wire plug ready so when I get the cig lighter in the mail I can then add the male to it and it will be plug and play.
