I just picked myself up an Icom 880H, now I just need a good dual band antenna and mounting option. I'm thinking of putting the antenna on my roof since my trunk is pretty much full.

It's been awhile since I was into 2M/440 but I always liked the Japanese Multi-Banders. The AES Catalog is a good place to look as the charts are very comprehensive. As to a mounting position, they also have some great mounts for all locations. The heavier antennas do not do well with a mag mount however. OT, for HF, I was always a Bug-Catcher with a 500W Ten-Tec Hercules II guy but there are those nice Auto-tuning American made ones now.

Drill and NMO, this Yaesu guy thinks you need to redeem yourself for getting an Icom![]()
An Icom guy talking Motorola?

Well, I might get the Icom 2820H for D-Star and be able to chat on the radio, but not sure yet. I want to drill a hole for this one.
I have a FT-60 now, but something more car friendly would be nice. The FT1900R would be nice if I'm ever out in the wilderness.
Got some install pics yet?
I can't razz you too much on the Icom thing, it's the makeup of my real GMRS gear (but the bubblepacks are 100% Motorola, which is basically Yaesu now) and I actually added a FT-270 to my collection last week for around the house rag chewing, trying to get back into the hobby since my move in the winter, fact that it's storm spotter season certainly isn't hurting.
(Cliff - I had no idea you're a ham - cool!)
for 2m/440, I'm quite partial to the Larsen "NMO 2/70B"... and I'd drill a hole
73's!

QSL, was KC4ZWX then AC4NJ now W4NJ. Avid DX'r, Collins Collector and Premium Receivers are my niche now.

So I picked up a Diamond NR72BNMO and AD-25M. What type of cable should I buy and how do I connect it so the mount?
Didn't it come with a cable and matching connector?
