I'm really interested in putting cb in a small car, but I don't want an antenna whipping around. Is there any half way decent antenna that can be hidden.

The most truthful answer is no. Many people buy through the glass antennas and are sadly disappointed with there performance. In CB, the larger the antenna the better the range. This is basically due the RF spectrum CB lies in. It was placed into the 27MHz range and is considered HF. Anything in the HF range requires a large antenna to hear efficiently. I would suggest getting a Wilson 500 Magnetic mount antenna. This would allow you to put it on when you take a drive and remove it when you like. I drive a coupe and also don't want a big obtrusive antenna on my car all the time. I find this setup gives me the best of both worlds.
Wilson Lil Wil is 36" tall and is a decent antenna

Anyone had any experience with this ?
The car is a crx, you know the street legal go karts.
I'm looking for real extreme range or anything.
I doubt the range is any good....generally in CB antenna language bigger is better
Is there any wire type antenna that I can run throughout the body of the car?
antenna's can't be shielded by medal at least CB antennas...you could get a cell phone like through-glass CB antenna or one that uses your am/fm radio antenna however both have poor range.
The antenna is the most important thing of the CB so you have to do it right
Oh metal = bad, looks like the best thing I could probably do is remove the stock am/fm antenna and somehow mount ~ 2 foot cb antenna in it's place. Do you know of any antennas that might fit? The base of the antenna must be thin.

I've never installed a cb before but im assuming you just run coaxial to the antenna, is this correct?
no need to remove you car antenna. Just use your your stock car antenna and and get a am/fm cb antenna splitter
search "AFCB133 signal splitter" on google and see what you get...
No need to get the metal ant. You can get fiberglass ants too!
