I dont have access to a SWR meter yet .. Would I be ok hooking up my Maxrad 2700 antenna to my Uniden 510XL CB without any issues?

It'll work, just don't transmit on it. You have to have the microphone plugged in to be able to hear anything so be real careful not to press the button...
