    Default LI install Dodge SRT

Well i decided to install my LI today. I though it was going to be a couple hour project. After about 3 hours of just deciding where i am going to mount the cpu, and how to run the wires, and place the switch i started to take the panel under the steering wheel off.

I mounted it right under the wheel using on 2 screws. But i have some questions about it.

    1. Since i most liekly wont be able to hear the cpu alert. How and what wires do i connect to my radio and that when a alert comes the radio will mute and talk through my speakers?

    2. Do the heads have to be flush the the bumper? or can i place them 1/5 inch from the end of the front and rear bumper? Just a very little in.
Reason i ask is because the front body is more round then just flat.

    3. Also how do u level and make sure they are straight as posible?

Here are some pictures that i just took today, heads are no in yet, as im waiting for answers to make sure they are level and right.

I was going to install it the way you did, but people who break into your car will just rip it off. You might as well just mount it inside where you can see it, that's how I did mine. I can still hear the speaker easily.

    oh, inside as in where?

Reason i did it like this cause it seem way easier. Im not worried about someone breaking in my car. I never leave it alone, ever. That is the only reason i did it like that.

I also had the idea to put it on the right side of the driver seat on the side of the center counsel u know? I found if i did that, my seat would rub against its, and just be a pain in the ass.

I would hide the whole unit away if i can find a way to make the alert come to the stereo speakers and mute the station while it talks. Thats why i need help cause i can still take it off there.

Also, how did u level yours?? advice.

I wouldnt worry about hearing it unless you blast the stereo.

The slight indent you mentioned should be no issue.

I levelled mine by placing a pencil alongside the unit to make sure they were pointing straight out and I used a thin metal ruler to check the vertical axis. Most of this is eyeballed since mine is setback within a very tight spot in the grille

When i blast the stereo I can't really hear my Blinder so I just listen to the V1 and keep a close eye on the Blinder LED

Also I never really drive with the volume full on when I am on roads requiring my jammer..just as a nice but decent volume

"Flush" would offer best/optimized performance, but it will leave the units more vulnerable to parking-lot taps as well as, to an extent, road debris and sun-glare.

A 1/5th of an inch recess should not be of any practical concern, IMveryHO.

Just eyeball it. It'll be good enough.

Others here have gone to extremes of using bubble-levels, lasersights, drop-downs measurements, etc. - as well as insuring that the vehicle itself is parked on level ground, but I'd say that honestly, as long as the last requirement is met, just eyeballing should be more than good enough.

im not worried about its being to high or low, cause the metal housing it came with once put on the bumper will auto level itself. Im more concert with left to right or straightness of it.

like looking at the car, and the head either being more to the left or more to the right, now up or down.

I tried some things with the rulers, and i think i got it look forward as much as i could by an eye ball too.

I also gave it little less then 1/5 inch so its not all the way flush but just a little inside so if sun does it, it has a little cover.

My heads are well recessed but I still get that damn sun warning all the time so I'm not worried

Just installed mine a few days ago. Do you have a install manual? If not, search google for the laser interceptor uk store and you can get a copy of the install manual. There's a wiring diagram for the switch.

Hard to explain in words but:

Looking at the switch from the back with the LED light up, the single thick red wire goes on bottom, the other large spade connector looped to the blue wire goes in the middle, the blue wire goes to the left top connector (labeled '+'), and the green goes to the right top connector (labeled '-').

The blue and green wire small connector can get loose. Squeeze the end a little before inserting them if needed.
