    Default My RX-65 install, a little slick

    Here is an update on my install just to make it a little more slick, got a before and after pic.

    Before pic:

    If a cop pulls me over I just pull down the sunshade and it hides my RD

    My remote mute leds are covered with black electrical tape so it wont draw any attention from the officer

    After Pic with the Static Sunshade

    I bought the static sunshade at walmart

    How long is that sunshade? or do you have to cut it?

    I gotta get me some of those static sunshades. Dang, another neat idea which I could have dreamed up first and patented!

    I just cut the Static Sunshade in half and I placed each half on either sides of the RVM black dots.

    @memtek
    it looks like you can still see the RD on this pic but in actual it pretty much camouflages the RD,,, just used a good camera thats why the RD can still be seen ahehehhee

    I assume the sunshade is not metallic since it sticks by static?

    I bought two of those static shades at Walmart the other day after seeing this thread. They are not metallic. SixPackABS, get rid of that Valvoline oil change sticker. It might catch an officer's eye and make his eyes look at it and then possibly see your RD.

    I agree the sticker might catch an officers eyes, take that down and write it on a piece of papaer and stick it in the center console.

    I just cut the static shades and put it up, and it looked awful from the outside, there were way to many air bubbles and it could not get them out, even pushing hard. I tried multiple times. Any advice on how to remove the bubbles? I am thinking of slightly misting the shade and window with distilled water and using a soft putty blade covered with a folded rag to smooth out the air bubbles. Hopefully it will still stick with the water in between the window and shade. BTW, the static shades do not stick well to the factory dots. If I cannot get every air bubble out, I am not going to leave the static shades up, it just looks not clean.
