Default Concealed Display of Cobra 75 CB

Here is the install of a Cobra 75 CB in a Volvo S60. It is completely concealed. The actual CB unit is tucked under the floorboard in the trunk. The cable from the CB goes through the cutaway hole behind the armrest. Because the back seat is designed to provide access to the trunk (e.g., for carrying skis), access between trunk and back seat was very easy. One step from that is storage in the arm rest, and one step from that is securing the handset/controls to the console in front. 3M double sided tape was used to secure the CB holder to the console. The antenna mount has a quick disconnect adapter attached. The other end of the adapter is attached to the Firestick II antenna, which is stored in the trunk until needed.

Also shown is the V1, Cheetah mirror install, with the V1 on the left of the mirror and the RDI on the right. A compact ensemble that cannot be seen easily outside the car.

I can't tell you yet. I got it for long trips only. Not for my usual city driving. I have tested it, but I haven't really road tested it yet. I can tell you it is a Cobra 75, with a 3 foot Firestick II antenna. There are probably those on this forum who can venture a guess at how bad or good the range is. I was told that its range is enhanced by having the dilly whopper (transponder?) at the tip rather than at the base (as with the Little Wil). I know nothing about CB's. I just read that the Cobra 75 got good reviews, and then listened to what Lazlo at the local CB shop told me about antennas.

    Nice install.
You will be happy with the Firestik II.
