Default My CATFISH (4th gen Camaro) has Blinders!!

Big Thanks to BlinderGuy for getting all my stuff delivered ! Thanks Man!

Since i now live in the "super speeder" state, i broke down and bought the M37 and a STi driver as an upgrade to my old bel 966. I've been told i'll need to put a second head on the rear of my car, and that's fine, later down the road, cash permitting. The main goal was to have "something". I took my time with the install, since the cold weather and rain has kept the LEO's "busy" elsewhere. I mocked up some paper brackets and taking tips from category4, made some from sheetmetal. I read many times on here not to recess to far inside the bumper because it decreases the effectiveness of the heads. I think what i've got is a happy medium. Stealth the car, not the install. How about this.....

    Before.

    Paper dummy.

    Mockup.

Jacks i used to level the heads. Stole this from R.J. with his G8. Thanks Man!!!

    Some metalwork.

With some holes and a few coats.

    Some leveling.

Had to trim the Front grille a tad.

I know some will say to black-out the grill, but i kinda like the chrome.

The brackets don't look to much out of place, right?

This shows just how much sticks out the front. With a curved frontend, it was hard to keep them level, even, and not an eyesore.

I did the same for the rear.

    Leveling the rear...

I centered the single head, but i'll have lots of room for the other head here later on...

My vert had an extra cig plug i never use, so i popped it out and wouldn't know, the control button JUST did fit. SWEET! I drilled a small hole for the LED between my top button and well, you know...

So all i left to do is hardwire my STi driver. I'll start bugging CAT4 so i can get this thing tested!!! Oh, Yeah, two reds an a solid green on start up. I D/L the firmware and set it to consent jam and my alert to 1 second after. I can't wait to test my catfish!!! Thanks for looking at my rabbit, any advise or criticism is welcome!!!

Looking good, nice brackets. I am curious where do you get that type of metal and how do you cut it?

Looks good. One suggestion... any consideration to removing the "Camaro mirror" behind the billet grill? Should help to reduce lidar reflectivity.

I don't really know anything about laser jammers, but for what it's worth very nice install. Love the custom sheet metal brackets.

that's not a mirror is the bumper. what your seeing is the reflection off a waxed car

    Great looking install!

You may want to gunmetal matte finnish the billet as additional protection. You could always wipe it off with some non-reactive solvent later. Shiny stuff is not your friend against laser.

    WOW!!!!!

Thanks for the compliments everyone!! This is my first setup and wasn't sure how it would turn out, glad it's not getting flamed. hahaha

    HOLY CRAP!!!!
    MY FIRST UNCONFIRMED SAVE TODAY!!!!
I was driving back from lunch 75 south, about 1:30pm, just inside the perimeter, i saw two of cobb counties finest chargers had pulled two people over so i knew more HAD to be around. Found me a nice BMW running a good clip in the left lane, so i tucked behind him, and keep my eyes open. SURE enough, i spot another one standing next to the car shooting, just then, my BLINDER goes WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA red light solid!!!
I drop out of sixth gear, apply some break, needle falls to five of the PSL, and i hit the kill. EASY as pie. I stay in the left lane and watch the rear view, he doesn't budge. Just keeps on shooting..... YAY!!!!!!!!
    I LOVE this thing!!!!!!

I can't wait to see what type of PT category4 gets off me tomorrow!!!

That's cool, but are you sure about velcro?
You want me make you some of my brackets since you have the same grille?
    What year is your car?
