Big Thanks to BlinderGuy for getting all my stuff delivered ! Thanks Man!
Since i now live in the "super speeder" state, i broke down and bought the M37 and a STi driver as an upgrade to my old bel 966. I've been told i'll need to put a second head on the rear of my car, and that's fine, later down the road, cash permitting. The main goal was to have "something". I took my time with the install, since the cold weather and rain has kept the LEO's "busy" elsewhere. I mocked up some paper brackets and taking tips from category4, made some from sheetmetal. I read many times on here not to recess to far inside the bumper because it decreases the effectiveness of the heads. I think what i've got is a happy medium. Stealth the car, not the install. How about this.....
Before.
Paper dummy.
Mockup.
Jacks i used to level the heads. Stole this from R.J. with his G8. Thanks Man!!!
Some metalwork.
With some holes and a few coats.
Some leveling.
Had to trim the Front grille a tad.
I know some will say to black-out the grill, but i kinda like the chrome.
The brackets don't look to much out of place, right?
This shows just how much sticks out the front. With a curved frontend, it was hard to keep them level, even, and not an eyesore.
I did the same for the rear.
Leveling the rear...
I centered the single head, but i'll have lots of room for the other head here later on...
My vert had an extra cig plug i never use, so i popped it out and wouldn't know, the control button JUST did fit. SWEET! I drilled a small hole for the LED between my top button and well, you know...
So all i left to do is hardwire my STi driver. I'll start bugging CAT4 so i can get this thing tested!!! Oh, Yeah, two reds an a solid green on start up. I D/L the firmware and set it to consent jam and my alert to 1 second after. I can't wait to test my catfish!!! Thanks for looking at my rabbit, any advise or criticism is welcome!!!![]()
