Black dots and be a killer for suction cups. I mounted a plexi glass plate over my dots, no problems, maybe better.
How did you get the plexi glass to stick?
    Double sided mounting tape.

Just any double sided or automotive double sided tape?

I would suggest the clear, or heavy double sided tape. Just don't use foam, it will rot and be a real pain to take off if necessary.

Very professional looking!! I've been looking for a way to mount my V1 that would get it out of the sun, since summer heat in my area is routinely 100F+. I currently have it mounted behind a tint strip that has great heat rejection, but since the factory V1 mount relies on the V1 resting on the glass, I've found that the heat absorbed by the tint naturally gets transferred through the V1's magnesium and heats it up to very high temps. With the SuperCup, you'll get the V1 away from the windshield AND keep it shaded if you mount it up high by the mirror. Very cool idea! I'll try it out one of these days with my SuperCup, but I think I'll use 3M DualLock Fasteners since I woudn't want the glue to fail in excessive heat.

EDIT: I just did a quick mock-up of the SuperCup & Visor Mount when I got home, and while it looks really nice & stable, it pushes it too far into the cabin for my liking.

I agree, that's why i don't use it. However i think i saw where someone bent the bracket so it was closer?
