And way to recessed. Great concept though.

Yes the heads are recessed but they must be in a banned area where super stealth must be used.
    Great install and awesome idea!!

i was considering a setup similar to this, but i was going to cut into the top of my bumper in front of the kidneys, and only have them pop out whenever i'm at risk of a shot, and have them automatically retract whenever i park, but there just wasn't enough room in my bumper for it.

Won't you have to cut into the reinforcement bar?

    +1

Gotta start somewhere, and that is a great start! Now just refine it. =D

Looks like a very good idea but the heads are definitely too recessed. Pretty much impossible to find them when they are retracted though which could be handy in an illegal area.

yup. didn't consider it for very long when i thought about it.

would have been damn cool though, i would have just used the cut out from the bumper to match the curvature perfectly, and its not like anybody would be looking at my car while i was driving, so visuals wouldn't matter. i park the car, poof, nobody knows.

Would be interesting to see the mechanism .

In fact since the travel path is only the height of the head , it could
be made very reliable either with an electric motor or hydraulic system.

The other way around is to have a curtain / plastic part (color assorted) that
comes in front of the sensor .

Another way would be to rotate the sensor by 90 degrees
with an electric motor with the appropriate fitting/electrical stopper(reversing
    the polarity).
In the off position : what is to be seen is a black piece of plastic
