Anybody use Garmin GPS systems?

I've had a Garmin 255w for about 2 and 1/2 years, and I love it. It's never steered me wrong. I use it about 5 days a week for work (still delivery driving, working on getting my post college job, interview soon). When I have to use it (it's always on though) it always gets me dead on or very close to the house or business location I'm looking for.

I have been using a Garmin Nuvi 200W for a long-time now... and I love it. Every GPS in my family is a Garmin... of course you will always have little hiccups... but it is just another tool to get me to my destination, I never let it drive for me.

I've had the nuvi255 for a little over a year. No complaints with routing. Easy to detour around traffic jams. Display and touch interface pretty good (qwerty keypad). Database for attractions, stores, gas stations is pretty good.

Complaints: Battery degrades very quickly. I even sent it back in under warranty, but after a year the battery doesn't hold charge very long (maybe one hour). Also tall buildings in Chicago interfered a bit with reception. Satellite acquisition can take a minute when you power it up.

Overall, very postive experience when using it in the car

Garmin seems to have the corner on this market. They are decent, and very affordable.

They do have some issues, my biggest pet peeve with these is their travel directions and "Turn in XXX miles" on the display. They have a 'feature' that informs you to "do not exit here" whenever you intersect with a state or national highway. It says, "keep left onto xxx", when all but the exit lane apply. At least it does not do it for every exit.

I wish there was a mode that shows when you ACTUALLY have to exit, so you can plan accordingly. A few minor code changes would make them perfect.

Yes, I have two. Both of them are far better than my Magellan.

my sister gave my dad a magellan....and he says it is totally useless..lol
