I got 2.3 today on 3 brand new FHPs, and then about 20 miles later I got about .3 miles. It varies wildly based on the setup and conditions.
wow. sounds good. my 1.5 miles was on freeway with quite a grade up hill in front. so i figure i could have gotten a lot more range. i just moved recently moved my V1 from way high (behind tint) to right below rear view mirror...see how this works out.
I have gotten anything from 1/4 of a mile to 2 miles.
RIP Duncan my BELOVED black lab son 8/7/99-3/23/11. I will miss you DEARLY.

It is hard to pinpoint an average range since terrain is a big factor and the Ka band gun you are trying to pick up. The Talon, for example, is more difficult to pick up than a Golden Eagle Ka, and both radars are from Kustom.
If were talking about a straight road with a few hills, then I get 1.8 to 2 miles with a Stalker Dual Ka band radar. My V1 seems to get better range on 33.8 GHz but I have not done any measurement of distance with that frequency.

3 miles max to .5 miles in many KA TEST that i have done with my Talon radar gun![]()
I also forgot to add i can get my v1 to only alert withen .3 mile range at very hard angles these is the least range i have is .3 miles.these testting are from hilly roads and curves and falt roads many different testOriginally Posted by carlito
The V1 has impressed me with some instant on and from the rear encounters... http://www.radardetector.net/Instant...ter-11345t.phpOriginally Posted by againstme!
With steady state I have gotten 1-2 mile range that I can validate. But terrain and radar angle to target have alot to do with any radar max pick up range.
On average pre-sending it in:
.1miles (Constant on)
-
.75miles (Constant on)
On average now:
.2miles (Constant on)
-
.75miles(Constant on)
Overall normally .4miles is to be expected.![]()
