Tonight I turned POP off. What changes might I expect to see as far as performance goes? More what? Less what? Any effect on the "J" alerts?

I thought if you turned pop off you are also turning the junk mode off!
i may have thought because the pop mode uses a faster scan rate that you may get increased sensitivity on k and ka bands!
Your V1 will behave much more like a good, quality RD should. I've had POP off for over 12,000 miles now and I can't imagine turning it back on. WAY TOO MANY FALSES WITH POP ON. I've come to accept the fact that I may not get a real POP alert, but I always try to use a rabbit and I am not usually a speed demon.(rarely go more than 15 over)
Here is a thread you may want to review:

Thanks - appreciate the information. I will leave POP off for the moment. Is it possible to get the "J-junk" alert with POP off?
X2. I think POP is a wasteful featureOriginally Posted by Buz

So to answer your question, yes the "J" still works, but it's extremely rare to see one with POP off.
BTW, I have version 3.826, I'm not sure about any other versions.
Thanks Buz- I was just trying to see if POP and the junk alert were on the same setting. As far as I knew it wasnt possible to turn the Junk alert off -POP yes Junk alert no. So I guess its safe to say now if I get a "J" alert it is due to a polluting RD.
To tell the truth I have had so few "J" alerts with POP on I dont recall if they indicated K or Ka band.
If you turn off the "Ka false alert guard" it turns off the "J" feature, but you won't be able to stand using it like that with all of the Ka falses.
The "Ka false alert guard" stays on.Originally Posted by jimbonzzz
