There are no authorized resellers of the V1. You can get it directly from Valentine1's website. You could buy one on eBay or elsewhere, but you wouldn't be assured of getting the latest firmware revision.

You could buy a refurbished unit from V1. They're 10% off in price. Anyone else selling them is just selling one they got from somewhere, and you're unlikely to get much of a deal on it compared to a new one.

I agree with the above, go directly to VR, we have heard way to many ebay horror stories on here (as opposed to good ones with RD's) to advise you to go to ebay or another retailer to save a few bucks (if that).

It took me 7 long months to filter through all the radar detector adverts, and obnoxious claims of some detector makers.(RMR) And right now you are reading the best source for detector reviews. (I found this site 2 days after I got my new V-1) Most of the people posting on this site do "real-World" testing everyday by using their detector. Not some goofy test course that can be swayed to make detector #Q look better than another brand #X
It would have saved me months of research to find this site earlier.

Well, glad to say that I am not disappointed with my choice at all.
