    Default VR's Site...Tests

I can't remember if this was discussed before but I was looking at VR's site and I notice the tests results are from 2002. It has the V1 way, way, way out in front, but there is no X50, no RX65, no STI. This old comparison would leave me to believe that the recent tests have the V1 a bit behind and therefore are not on www.valentine1.com

I am not trying to start a pissing match or anything but I am just saying...2002.....come on....a lot has changed since then and I am a bit concerned it is not updated not because there hasn't been a recent test but because the V1 hasn't been the winner of the recent tests.

Take a peak if you haven't seen it before.

When I recently spoke to VR about tests, their attitude seemed to be fairly complacent. I was surprised that they didn't care more that there hasn't been an "objective" test for so long. That's not good for them if they really are the leader of the pack. If you are the sure-winner, there are major $$$ to be realized from the promotion of that fact.

It doesn't make sense. I realize that they can't control when or how the tests are conducted, but they can certainly encourage and support them. They don't seem to care... or at least the guy I talked with didn't. Who knows what's going on though?

Its funny but I was thinking the same thing when I ordered mine a few days ago. I already own an RX65 but with so much discussion over which one was better I figured I would buy both and see for myself.

I did email them a few days ago about updating some test information but got no response. I know the x50 was supposed to have much better range than the original 8500 so I am sure the same test run today would definately show different results.

I think it's better to show a test were you dominate than a test were it's too close to tell. Other companies have made great improvements in the past years. I would say the top 3 are about as equal as companies will ever be. So why show a test that says "yes we're good but so are these other detectors" when you can say "we're by far the best out there".

I bet you will find your RX65 to be better if Ka is your biggest concern. Let me know

Didn't the 8500 actually out perform the X50 on Ka band in some of the GOL tests?

Awhile back I contacted Car & Driver magazine about updating their 2002 test with another test. I was told that testing by C&D was product driven meaning when there were enough new products out to justify a test that they would do it then. With all the new RDs that have appeared on the scene since 2002, I think a C&D RD test would be in order.

Especially since there's a new most expensive detector.

C&D, Is the STI just an invisible RX65, or is it invisible PLUS the best performer...

Well the results would be interesting- might even get me to switch brands. I like the V1 because it meets my current needs but I wouldnt hesitate to buy another brand if it proved to be the top performer.
