    Default What was that?

Well on my drive to work last night on the GSP (NJ) i was crusing being the only one for about a 1/4 and i get a laser hit from the front for about two seconds and everything is quiet again then i look and see nothing but is was pitch black so i don't know if he could have been under a tree or something on the right side of the highway. What do you guys think?

do you have any traffic flow detectors which use infra red?

if it was pitch black then its doubtful that he'd have seen you plate?

    were you over the limit?

It could have been a LEO (NJ has become laser happy the past few years), or it could have been one of those newer luxury cars/SUVs with the laser cruise control option. Infinitis are infamous for causing laser falses on V1s, and some Lexus and Toyota models are starting to do it too.

If it happened when someone in front of you was braking, it could have been their brake lights. Older Envoys and Trailblazers had neon 3rd brakelights that drive V1 nuts.

Probably a LEO hiding somewhere. They can hide themselves well especially if they're on a bike. Definately not brakelights, as he said he was the only one within that 1/4 mile stretch.

Default i go throught there every night

I drive throught there every night and have never gotten a laser false there, also i have seen cops there before but you can see them the cars are white but it could have been one of those Black unmarked but you never know i doubt i can pick it up from the other side of the highway or someone's brake lights in front, i know whatever it was freaked me out two second burst and that's it i was doing 70 in a 55 which is normal here and they dont pull you over, so i did not worry about it since i saw no lights.

LED lights, Xenon lights, Neon lights (like on store fronts and pizza shops / bars etc......)

The Infinity cruise control system, some Cadillac features.

EZ pass toll boths upon exit (this in the NH toll booths system on 93 in Manchester)

I have no tested the MA Fast Lane (same system) or the NY/Nj Ezpass toll booths yet.

Those toll "thank you" LED light signs do the trick setting off laser........
or is it the IR camera to take you picture if you don't pay?

    Still testing.............

Only the NH toll booths do it. All of them... Hooksett, Bedford, Hampton, etc. MA, CT, NY, NJ booths don't. I don't believe it's the LED signs or the cameras, as I had alerts in booths that weren't equipped with these things in the past.

Also, the signal appears to come from overhead. If my sunroof is open I get a rear alert as well as front with my V1 when I go through a booth. With my X50, I only get an alert if it's mounted on the windshield, not on the visor.
