V1 3.851

hey guys, i just posted a review on my last post. i just read valentines site, where it said the revision number was on the bootup sequence. i didnt know this previously, but i could have sworn seeing a 5 in there somewhere. i just now checked, and it showed v1 3.851. is this a crock of baloney or did i get a new revision? i remember calling valentine research asking about the upgrade policy, letting the woman know i didnt want to buy my unit only to have to buy an upgrade a month later. maybe she hookd me up, or maybe im goin crazy cuz i dont know v1 revision history. someone help me out!!

The last known revision is 3.826, maybe they have a new rev. out? I wonder why it's 3.851 instead of 3.827 though, if it's true...

When did you order/receive your unit? Bought new from VR?

ordered unit monday july 10th, received it on thurs the 13th.

and yes, brand new from VR (not refurb)

keep us updated if it is a new rev# and wether the J-bug is gone, Im thinking about getting one and this may be what makes the decision for me if there is a legit new rev out there...

texan, i was too eager to learn how to change settings before i set for dallas, so i kept all the default settings. i dont know what the j bug is, but i only got one alert that j'ed out (pop on). im pretty sure it was a cheapie rd; in my review all the waco cops use KA, and i also encountered some other cops, all of which used KA, and none j'd out. on my way back, with pop disabled, i got nothing that j'ed out. ill keep you guys updated on performance with my 30 mile commutes everyday. this has to be a new revision, because i got it brand new from VR, and it shows 3. 8 5 1 in that bootup sequence.

Awesome. . . I just ran my serial and they told me I had the newest. Perhaps they accidently gave you a too new one?

Entered mine which is rev. 3.826, it told me this

"V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8—POP2 with Euro Mode. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser.

Upgrade Recommendation: You already have our best. "

I think this 3.851 is BS
