    Default BS V1 Moment?

I have a really hard time believing this one...
March 2006: Not guilty by reason of V1

It was a beautiful spring day, blue skies, warm temperatures, windows down, life couldn't have been better. I got off the main highway and took the service road to the street that would get me home. For the five years I’ve lived here, it’s been an area known for speeders.

As soon as I hit the service road, V1 went nuts, one KA loud and clear dead ahead. Down the road a bit I see a cop with a dark blue van pulled over, so I think "ah, same as always".

Next thing I know, V1 says, “three bogeys ahead, all KA." I slow to the speed limit while they were shooting the cars far in front of me. I cruise on by the cop with his "customer" in the blue van and make the left hand turn only to find a uniformed officer stopping traffic, pointing to each car in front of him and looking at the van, either letting them go or making them pull in for an "interview." I quickly see the cop car is a diversion; and the blue van has two men in back with radar guns "shooting" at the oncoming traffic.

It was my turn in front of the officer. He points to my car, looks at the van and asks me to pull in. He starts the routine, "license, registration and insurance." I ask "what am I being pulled over for?" He says, "speeding, now let me see that information." I reply, "Officer, no offense, but my detector had you guys picked up over a mile away. I was NOT speeding." He looks in my car, says "V1, huh? You must have had us," and he lets me go.

All I can say is this: when cops know about V1 and its reliability, you know you have the best detector. Thanks Mike, I owe you one!

That sounds alittle ridiculous if you ask me. I would think the cop would A) Harrass the guy for having the RD - thats what happens all the time in NJ or (B) Tell him that the radar detector was crap because it didn't work and ticket him.

I'm thinking farther along the line of "B". I read that one awhile ago and laughed.

    A) would be correct, I was harassed like no other when he saw my lil whistler before my x50. I was like "Im going to the airport to pick up my (now ex) gf, and I needed to put it up because it was a gift and I didnt want her to think I didnt appreciate it." At 6am on saturday during the summer, what else could the cop think a 17 year old was up to?

He let me go though.. after threatening to take my license away with all the bs fines he was going to give me.

Suprised there is even a v1 moment not bashing the escort. half those momments are BS if you ask me.

You really think there are going to be 3 cops shooting a radar gun at once?

    how about this one

So I'm traveling through Ohio on I-80, caravanning with five other friends, all headed to a student car competition outside Detroit. I've just installed my Valentine One. I'm coming down a hill and all of a sudden I get a laser warning. Scares the pants off of me.

Duck into the right lane, see the cruiser in the median, and make it past. Whew.

At the next rest stop I learn that the guy behind me, with his Passport 8500, went by the same place about five minutes behind me, but his laser warning didn't go off. Sure enough, he got pulled over.

Of the five of us, on a five-hour trip, three people got tickets. The two of us who didn't were the rental-truck driver and the V1 owner.

Why do people lie to try and make friends?
