Default A REALLY LUCKY GETAWAY :P

I was in one of those rural neighborhood streets where there are less cars. The speed limit was 35 and I was going around 60. My v1 detect the cruiser with his radar on (Ka) full strength. my v1 detected it when i was half-mile away fromn the cruiser. The cruiser was on the other side going along the road. When I seen the cruiser , i tried to break but it was to f*ing late. He turned around and pulled me over.

Now I got a really big question though. How the F can a cruiser calculate my speed while he's in his car driving? I thought cops are suppose to sit in one place and radar you and if they find you speeding, they will go after you.

Anyways back to the story, he did his routine asking for paper, etc. Then he ask me did i know how fast i am going and I said around 50-60. Then he told me I was at 57. How the #$*(%$? After that I kept calm to myself and told him sorry sir. He ask me why i was speeding and I said I had an emergency at home b/c of my mom being sick and I was hanging at my friends place. And then he told me its better to slow down for safety for others....(yea right :x ) Police have their rights to speed too  So then he let me go and Phew my heartbeat went down and off I go.

If I was paying attention to my v1 more, this wouldn't be happening caz I put the volume on my v1 pretty low. :x

Do any of you live in Washington State? If you do, do you know what type of band they use? I know K, Ka, Laser is used alot but not sure. X band is just sensors by shopping malls. I turned that off. I live around the Puyallup area and patrol cruisers uses radar in their car while driving and checking for speeders.

Also on the V1 options, on option 5, should I put it to normal (factory setting) or more responsive? How bout option 6, off or on? Lastly, should I leave POP on?

It would really helpful for me if you guys reply back. 8) THANKS!

Yeh, LEO's can use moving radar. One thing about the more responsive mode...it doesnt increase peformance but it gives an extra boost in the strength meter to make you slow down. if you choose this mode, dont blame V1 if u piss ur pants.

So you didn't brake right away when you got the Ka alert? I hope you learned your lesson. If you had braked right away with the radar a half mile away you may have been able to scrub some more speed off. I don't know how the radar signature of a G35 is, but I would think borderline at a half mile. Most mid sized cars can be clocked at 1500 ft. on Ka band, although I saw where they clocked a Maxima at 2500 ft.

Never ignore a Ka band alert! Enjoy your lucky save and welcome to the forum. Gotta like those 30 MPH speed limits out in the boonies, all in the name of safety LOL!

too much falses and not too much leo's use it. its advised LEO's should not cite people w. this mode but as an estimate.

you should have had your license clipped, people like you are the reason for RD bans. Speeding on the freeway is one thing, but there is a reason that speed limits are 35 where they are, in neighborhoods where visibility is limited and people could be out in their street and suddenly bam some jack*** who has somethin to prove about his lack of manhood mows them down because he feels special when he doubles the speedlimit. Which calls into question the integrity of your entire story, but I wont even go into that.

And to stay on topic, yes, LEO's can nail you with moving radar the system is integrated into the speedometer of the cruiser and calculates your speed with all variables considered, thats how most cops run in residential areas because of lack of hiding places.

I agree with you Texan. I'm not going to bash you g35racer, but before you go being fast and furious, the least you should do is familiarize yourself with your V1 and how radar works. There is plenty of info here and all over the internet.
