    Units produced since 1996 will display the E.

    so mine should then...... but i've not got the E symbol appear!

    and i seriously hope it never does appear! also many people may get it confused with the euro mode!

    switch it on the E appears and all seems well to the european user! :shock: until they encounter a trap.......

    basically what that means is that all the units since that revision in 1996 have an internal test program to check for "errors", sort of a "self-test" deal and the associated "E" displayed if something is out of its operating parameters. Sort of like the dreaded "check Engine" light on your cars!

    I think you guys are getting this "E" because the calibration of the test program may be off a tad, or they are being set-off by the heat.
    Every "E" has been cleared by cooling the unit right?

    for me yes only if it really hot cool it off and it does not come back

    Or more like the "Self Cal" or "Service Required" on the Belscorts
    EXACTLY!! but this one is obviously resettable internally, My guess is the heat since it is a new design for temperature compensation. It is only a guess from the circumstances described by the people that had "E"'s
