That's what got my attention about 3.851. It would be helpful if others could do the same test to see if it is repeatable.

I have no problem with immediacy of response with my 3.826, at least when tested with a Stalker Dual Ka radar. My LEO friend was very impressed with the response time. He could hear it over my cell phone as he released the RF hold.

The tester Sethy was using may be using an X band harmonic for Ka band, so many RDs may have trouble responding to it. They may be trying to filter it out, who knows? Yet 3.851 seems to have good filtering, maybe better than many 3.826 units. This definitely needs to be tested in depth by GOL.

Once the V1 "sees" a bogey once, it "remembers" it for up to 30 seconds, and alerts immediately on subsequent hits on that frequency. If you power-cycle the V1, or wait a minute before firing the radar, you'll see a 1.5-second delay in pre-3.851 V1s the first time the radar is triggered. This is due to the false alarm guard.

I know my 3.813 (pre-POP) v1 works this way when I tested it with a Stalker ATR.

Thanks! I had not even noticed that until you mentioned it LOL!

Time sure does fly when you're having fun!

Kpatz, I have read others saying the same thing. You make a good point and I'll have to double check that on mine. I don't recall if I waited 30 seconds between I/0 hits or not. There was a delay with the BEL. At any rate 1.5 seconds is too long!

sigh...we need more people doing their own creative tests on their new 3.851 for repeatable results. I keep thinking....the heck, y not test it and send all the results to v1 and to see if they will improve or update to a major revision which will be the best of all RD!!!!!!!!!! :P
