    Default I have the 3.826 and 3.851

I just got my new 3.851 (ordered it wed)

I dont know what tests to do.

I have a camera(that can take video) and thats about it, no radar gun or laser gun.

Ill have the 3.826 for at least 7 more days before its sold on ebay.

Anybody have any suggestions? What do you want to know?

Ill try to go to the post office and take pictures on how much each one weights.

Unfortunately, you need a Ka radar gun for the all important IOR test.(Immediacy of Response).

It's been argued by some that 3.851 will alert more quickly than 3.826 to an initial Ka hit. I have a suspicion that this rumor is a bunch of BS.

I have a 3 band radar tester, but it's not like the one Sethy has. The instructions for mine warn that Ka band signal is a harmonic of the X band transmitter and that it may not trigger many RDs. To trigger my BEL at all with it, I must be in Ka superwide, and to trigger the V1 all the time I have to turn the Ka false alarm guard off. So at least with my tester, it is not the best way to test Ka band with.

When I want to make my friends with non-V1 RDs feel bad, I turn the false alarm guard off on my V1. The V1 will detect the tester Ka signal several hundred feet away, while their RDs remain totally silent! I eventually tell them what I did and why that happened LOL! BTW, against a real Ka radar trap, there is no difference in range with the false alarm guard on or off. I would expect a difference in speed of resonse though.

I know a cop who has Stalker Dual Ka and Decatur K band radars, so I test with those when I can. My V1 (1.7) always responded more quickly to the Stalker Ka instant on hit than the BEL, and the BEL is very good on Ka band. At the first opportunity I will do a similar test with my 3.826.

IMHO without a police radar gun, it is going to be difficult to get a good test of Ka response time.

That would be cool. I would like to see how much heavier it is. One thing I like about the V1 vs. RX65 and X50 is that it is so light 8)

The RLT-500 from target-automotive. I don't want to post the complete URL, but google will show it. No idea where to obtain one though. IMHO, it looks like a harmonic generator, so not as true a test as an actual radar gun operating at the fundamental freq.
