Default 3.851 and Cell Phone Falsing

This is my first post, so don't flame me ...

Drove 2500 miles with a new 3.851 and it would receive X-band falses from my Verizon phone.

Every 3 minutes I would recieve X-band falses, until I powered off the phone. If I move the phone around I could watch the arrows move.

Doesn't happen in my home area when I think is the phone is on a CDMA 850Mhz system. May only happen when roaming on 1900 Mhz.

Drove the same route with an 8.326 last month with no falsing.

Found an old thread indicating other's had similiar falsing from other firmwares and V1 indicated it was from the phone searching for 911/ GPS function which this phone doesn't support.

Does this only affect certain firmware versions and is now back with the 3.851 version?

Tried calling V1 today but the call was dropped twice when being x-ferrd.

First of all welcome. I too have the 3.851 and I occasionally have my Verizon cell phone on and sometimes I even use it while driving but not often. I have never had any X band alert from my cell phone.

I had falsing with Samsung and some LG phones regardless of the service. I've never had a false with a Sanyo which I use now.

I have found LG phones can cause a very weak X band alert when the phone goes out of service and its scanning or when it is using the pcs freqs. I discovered this one day while I was driving with a coworker who has an LG.
Personally I use motorola phones and have never had an issue with any of the motorola's I have used over the years.

Also...I don't believe they are running X band radar in your area so I would shut X band off all together. CatusMan would be able to tell you if there are X band radar units in your area better then I could and he is dead against shutting off any feature or band on a RD.

What does that rev include? With that revision number it must include Spectre immunity and a bunch of other things! A lot of revision happened since yesterday. J/k I know it's a typo!

Seriously, you have an X band malfunction. That is definitely not normal.
I had a few strange X band falses and had to send my V1 (older 1.7) in. Then the strange X band falses disappear.

Yes it was a typo, should have been 3.826.

I don't notice the issue in greater Reno area. Observed on I90 crossing MN and Hwy 220/ 287 in WY.

Strange how it was every 3 minutes until I powered off the phone.

Would prefer to keep X-Band enabled, as I drive alot of back roads and still encounter small town locals running X-Band.

I'll try calling V1 again for feedback.

    cap,
My .826 will false an x alert when my Verizon Treo is searching for a signal. As soon as it esablishes service, it stops falsing. Do you have sparse coverage out there?
