    Default V1 Return

I would like to get my V1 into the mail today for the 3.826 upgrade.

    Do they require an RMA?

Also, is this the correct return address for upgrades?

    Thanks guys.

I believe that the v1 website has detailed instructions on returns.

    How to Ship:

Ship your unit prepaid and insured, in its original packaging or something equally protective. You are responsible for your Valentine One until it is in our hands, so insist on a proof-of-delivery receipt.

Along with your Valentine One, please enclose the following: your name, billing address (for credit cards) and shipping address; description of the problem; your daytime telephone number; and if your Valentine One is out of warranty (older than one year), send $45 or a credit card number with expiration date to cover the cost of diagnosis and repair.

Your Valentine One will be repaired as soon as possible.

For units that have been abused or modified, a repair cost will be calculated based on parts and labor required. You will be contacted if the repair cost exceeds the $45 basic charge.
Do everything but the 45 dollars, just send it in and request the upgrade to 3.826.

It will be interesting to see if you get 3.826, or...........3.852. Someone else recently sent in their V1 and it came back with the 3.826 upgrade.

If you are having issues with the V1, such as ghosting or "J" outs of real radar, be sure and include that in your letter. That will increase your chances of getting an upgrade free of charge. Just to be on the safe side.

He should get 3.826 unless he wants to pay $75 for no reason and get 3.852.

I thought some V1 owners also sent in 3.826 and got back 3.851 for no charge but as part of a warranty repair.

No, 3.826 --> 3.851 or 3.852 = $75 plus shipping. There was a hardware change for "digital temperature compensation" that does not affect performance.

X 2 on your pricing but what about this?
"There’s not much difference between 3.851 and what you have. This change has primarily to do with manufacturing convenience.
Of course, we always try to improve the V1 with every change we make, but this one is focused on making the manufacturing process easier. The user-oriented improvements are: a very minor increase in sensitivity, small improvements in false signal rejection, and a minor increase in Euro-mode frequency coverage for Ka band.
    Thanks for clarification, Pete!"

That's why I wanted someone to send a 3.851 unit to Michael B to have him test that. He is the only one who can verify it.
