Today I looked up several of the patents on v1 website (I have no life).
This one, 5164729, is for an automute feature that the v1 curiously does not have. Yet they claim it is one of the patents for the v1.

Interesting find.
an individual or a company can patent something without actually using it,
Then they can sell rights to that patent to another company to make money off of them if they want.
I have patents for items I have not produced, i just thought of it first and I am protecting my intellectual property by doing this
That patent was applied for 16 years ago.
