I believe when you look at the tint it appears to have a blownish color

Most OEM metallic substrate windshield tints look similiar to the coating on camera lenses, or high-end binocular lenses. from a distance like about 50 to 100 feet you will see either a blue, or orange/reddish tint. Most of the high-end GM vehicles have it, and some mid-range too.

Do not wear sunglasses when trying to determine this, it may hide what you are trying to see. Also VR has an article in the "Ask Mike" section.

it is my experience that polarized glasses actually make the metallic film easier to see especially in very bright sunlight when windshield glare obscures your view. I can see how regular glasses would make it harder though...
