    Default returning the v1

well, after having the v1 for a few days (had it since last friday) with no problems, today, as i was ready to turn the unit off, what do i see? a E message!

i guess i will ignore the first E msg, but if i see it again, i want to return the unit. i get all of my money back, including shipping right? what about the cost to ship it back to vr?

ill just buy the v1 next spring, when the problems are all ironed out. plus with the possibilty of a 1.9, or the new bel rd... i want to leave my options open. im in pa so locals cant use radar anyways...

anyway, here's a pic of it...

i wonder what mike would have to say about that! you should send it in and complain about the E and see what they will say - then you can whip out the photo and slap em upside the head with it.

You aren't going to get your shipping charges back - you will get the 399 + Tax if applicable. Thats it.

    ----------------

On second note - the only reason you're returning it is because you saw the E? Not to be rude or anything but why not just get it fixed? Or is there more reasons on why you want to return it - if so why?

Wow man, I would return that thing... with the picture! You didn't pay for a V1 that will do that to you. Ask for a different one, or get your money back and try the Belscorts.

I am sure, however, VR may get around to seeing that sooner or later... they seem to be on here on/off and see some topics we post.

Also good job on the picture... that is some proof of the problem, also for those of us who have never seen the E, now we get to see what it looks like, its just to bad it happened to you.

Also check to see what firmware you have as DogGod said. (I am assuming .856).

I wouldn't ignore the first 'E' message, its there because something is wrong... get it fixed, so you dont get a ticket because of it!

If that is a temp sensor on your dashboard and i read it correctly, its only 59 degrees in/around your car.. so much for it being heat related. This is why i have held off on buying a V1. are you reading this VR?

I would send it back. How can you spend $400+ on a detector with that little gut feeling telling you your detector may be compromised on detection range.

hey, you returned yours too? i would've just sent it in for repairs except i hear vr is being an a$$hole about repairing the unit saying there is no problem, talking $hyt to you for being on this site etc etc so i think ill just return the unit. not worth all the arguments, shipping it back and forth, and the money it would cost me.

did you have to call or email vr and let them know that you were returning the unit, and that they should be receiving it in the mail soon? or did u just send it out with a note saying that you want your money back?

anyway, yea, it was crappy weather outside today, 59 degrees out, not much warmer inside my car... so E is not a heat problem. i was wondering why i wasn't getting full strength signals even though i was right next to the source... i just hope they get all of this straightened out soon. i guess ill just have to wait and feed my car mod bugs a little more..

i emailed them and they were @$$holes like you said, and they said if you ship it out immediatly we will get it before the 30 days. I had like 10 days, so i sent it out for 2-3 day service and i emailed VR asking if they would email me when they recieve it. Well today is the 11 and it has to be there by Tommorow and it should be there already. So we will see what happens.
