    Default V1 3.858 J-ed out a State Trooper

Yes, apparently it can still happen, with the latest 3.858 version.

I was on the highway when my V1 started sounding Ka ahead, which gradually got stronger. It seemed more like a real threat than a Crapra, so I slowed down accordingly. Once it got to about 6 LEDs of strength, the V1 Jed out the threat. Shortly afterward, I spotted a state trooper in the median. I power-cycled the V1 and it started alerting to the trooper again.

I've had many encounters with real Ka threats (mostly 35.5 Decatur/Kustom units) and none were ever Jed out. This one was a state trooper, and they use Stalkers. I've never had any other Stalker (including my own ATR) junk out my V1 either.

I bet it happens in unusual circumstances if a junk detector is nearby during a real threat. I think if VR can't fix the problem perfectly, they should either continue alerting after the "J" or defeat the J if the signal strength exceeds, say, 6 LEDs.

Well sorry to hear about that. With my first J of a real threat I couldn't be positive that there was a junk (cobra) signal. So I am assuming that it J'ed out the CHP

Luckily still no E so it is all good

VR's official explaination is that the V1 can get overpowered when receiving a strong single ...

I had a very similiar experience when i first got my V1. So far no trouble with it/ I turned pop off soo that has cut down on the J's alot.

Which reminds me I did have POP On when it J'ed out. So now I have it off. Hopefully I will have a better go!

    My POP is off.

Also, with regards to the overloading, the signal was only up to 5-6 LEDs when it Jed out. Also, I've pegged my V1 at near point-blank range with my Stalker ATR and it never Jed that out. So overloading isn't necessarily the cause in every instance.

With my .826 the Ka guard works really well I never get unwanted Ka alerts. This unit has only "J'ed" about 5 times in something like 60,000 miles! All of these alerts have been confirmed crap. If it did 'J' at a real cop this would not worry me as it's performance has been second to none.
With your "j" Kpatz the simple answer is the truth it "J'ed" a cop However there will be some outside the square reason why. Eg the cop's radar is sick, heavy traffic can change the frequency etc
Also we can all remember when the 'J' was first incorporated into the V1 and how it would "J" every cop when there was a crap detector in the area detecting the same cop. What I'm getting at is VR have come a long way with this. IMO
Don't worry dude you got back up

P.s Wasn't the over load thing changing the Ka alert to K and has nothing to do with "J" :?: (.824)

    That sucks kpatz.

I think it should continue to display the alert of the Ka, just automatically after showing J go down to muted volume. That would make me happy.

Hmm this has not happened to me yet. Every single J ive gotten has been geniune on my 3.858. However everytime i do get a J alert i treat as a threat as should everyone until this is perfected.
