Was doing some recon with my Stalker ATR Ka band gun. Noticed by “quick triggering” for about ¼ second I could obtain a speed reading on a target car WITHOUT setting off my 1.7 V1 sometimes & other times the V1 went full alert. This is true for both moving & stationary. After some experimenting, I have broken the code of why this happens. If the V1 alerts to Ka band it locks onto that frequency for exactly 10 seconds. Any burst of Ka from the same gun within 10 seconds of an alert will result in an instant full alert. Even the slightest tap of the transmit trigger will alert the V1 within 10 seconds of an alert. Wait over 10 seconds & the V1 goes back to scanning. You can now clock target cars using the quick trigger method again without setting off the V1.
Can someone with a 1.8 & Ka gun try this out too? My 1.7 is a pre pop model. Just wondering if this bug exist in the newest 1.8 V1 units.
Now that I know this I was very successful in “popping” cars with RDs that were well over the PSL, waiting a few seconds, then engaging the same vehicle with a full blast of IO, getting the same over the PSL speed initially as the car got on the brakes hard and slows to PSL.
