First impressions of my new V1

So i recieved my new v1 today hardwired it up and went out for a drive. For first things i in "A" mode started recieving a lot of x band falses my x50 never recieved them and there are no LEO's in my area shooting x or any door openers that use it only k.

I then changed to "l" mode and still was recieving false x alerts so i switched it to "L" and the x falses were gone. I did notice however i was getting alot more k alerts than before from what i am guessing were auto door openers (this was on the same street i always drive on that i never recieved with my x50).

however....the volume is 2wice as loud which is real nice

i noticed my x50 pretty darn loud, but you have to make it loud in the settings..
many here turn X band off, believing that police dont use it, but ive seen it used once.. and thats enough for me to leave it on...
i have mine in l mode, and although it falses in K it will know that its false and not make any sound for it, or use my muted volume setting, real alerts however make it scream..

Well you can disable the X band if you'd like. But I would definitely verify that it is not in use.

ok so a few new things i noticed today. The bogy meter i believe it is alerting when there are 2 k band door openers it is reporting both and it is still reporting x where the x50 never did in advanced logic i am wondering if there is actually a x band door opener at the store i never recieved so much as a peep on the escort.

and yes the arrows are really cool but it is verry sensative to k band and keeps bouncing all over the place with the door openers it reported 6 bogys today while facing a store :shock:

Hey von, some cellphones will set of the X band on the V1 and let's not forget the Bel 995. Hope this helps.

The V1 is more sensitive than the X50 on X and K bands, so it is going to pick up more false alarms. I prefer to have the extra sensitivity myself.

This happened to me today when I made a phone call while I was parked... I was like WTF! :P

I sent mine back exactly for this reason. Couldn't carry on a cell phone conversation without the V1 constantly beeping. Hangup the phone and it instantly stopped. Open the phone and dial and v1 starts up again........talked with Mike about it and it is a known issue....the workaround is to put v1 in full logic mode to filter it out. Who wants to be in full logic mode driving down the interstate though?
