Upgrade Valentine One?

Hello:
I am glad I found this site and forum.
I have a Valentine 1 that has served me well since 1998. It is worth every penny of the price I paid for it! This is a RADAR and LIDAR detector.
Anyhow, I am looking for advice, or recommendations on upgrading this 9 year old detector. I live in Arizona, and am not sure if POP is in use here. The web site at ValentineOne said it is still the best X and K protection, and does not recommend the upgrade unless POP is in use in my area.

Keep the 1.7 you have, great unit! no ghosting K band, no E's, no falling out of tune, no J out real LEO's, and the newer laser is too sensitive (laser cruise control)

I too live in Arizona and havent encountered POP but that doesnt mean that it isnt used here.

Radar roy lives in arizona, has contacts in the police so he's the best person to tell you..

i have found that the 1.7 that i sold actually alerted first sometimes on k band
better than or equal to..
on at different times(location based)

when 1.9 is release, plan to upgrade about 6 months AFTER it comes out.

May be some time in 2008 you will do the upgrade I think....
