Default *Updated! Working V1 Stealth Remote Display With video clips

Got my code working and programmed. (sorry of vids dont load, were recently uploaded)
    7 wires needed to connect.

Will be available once i get an idea how many are interested, will need a few testers.

This is what this Mod does to the V1 Remote Display:

When you turn on the V1 it will go through all its startup functions, and Display the current "MODE"

A few seconds later the Mode "A", "L" and Small "l" will disapear.

When a signal is detected the Display will come back on as normal.

If you press the Mute button on the Remote Display the Current Mode will be displayed.

There is no change in how the V1 operates, this just completely blanks out the display so you do not have a "MODE" light all the time on your dash.

The Dimmer function is still active.

The J should still display (havent had a J so i cant test at the moment, but i programmed it to have enough time delay after a signal is detected before the display shuts off)

Here are the Videossorry night videos at the moment)

V1 turning On,goes through all the modes then display shuts off.

Pressing the Mute Button to display current mode (comes on for about 3 seconds then goes away)

Driving with the V1, Shows the Stealth Display off, then once it detects the signal all the LEDs and Counter come back on, once the signal is no longer, the Stealth Remote Display will go blank.

Depending on the Demand the Mod will be selling for around $20 DIY, or $45 installed

I will be selling the chips and wires and resistors necessary to DIY, or i will offer my services for install. The chip being used is fine pitch, but i may adapt it to a larger platform.

    --------------------------------------------------------
im starting to write a chip that will go inside the remote display for the v1 so that when the unit is on the A, L, or l will not be illuminated. Its been bugging me to have the display "on" when nothing is being received. All normal counters and alerts will still turn on when a signal is received.

I might be interested. . . but I'd have to see how it turns out and wait for a few happy customers before I jump in.

i would actually be EXTREMELY interested, and can pay you write away once its prove to work.
i know how to solder btw, and have already taken the remote dispaly apart so that i could make a remote mute button..
    keep it up!!

looks like i got a project for the weekend, any other features anyone think the display should have? i should be able to get the no display mod working with just one programable chip, i just have to work out how if you change modes the mode will still be displayed for a second so you know what mode your on, might just tie it into the mute switch so if you press it it will display the current mode.

Infin. . . I like this idea and it is genius.

How much are you thinking it is going to cost?

since i think i can do it with 1 chip, and if enough people have interest in it once i get it going, im estimating around $15-20 with the chip prewired, cheaper for the chip itself. It probably will have about 10 wires inorder to make it work correctly. it should also work in the v1 itself but most use the remote display and there is more room inside of it to work with.

    Update:
Spent all night trying to figure out the remote display circuit, turns out it is harder than i thought, i wanted to do it using simple logic but the microprocessor they used multiplexes everything so im having a harder time with it. Think i got it down to 7 wires total with solder points that many can do if they wanted to try and install themselves. was going to use a 8 pin chip to program, but the 20 pin one is basicly the same cost to use and expandable later.

This is how im going to write the program:

v1 powers up current mode will be displayed for roughly 3 seconds.

v1 display will shut off so no "A", "L" or small "l" will be shown.
(this in no way affects the unit receiving radar signals)

once a signal is detected the display will turn back on as normal displaying the number of bogeys.

if you press the mute buton once, the current mode will display for 3 seconds to go away.

Nice infin, I wish VR would do more with the mute switch like press it once for mute and twice to bring back regular volume.
(maybe on the third time to bring back regular volume as the current second push kills the bogy lock tone)
