    Default Reprogramming the V1

I tried searching but couldn't find a revelant topic about it.
Does someone have a detailed explanation of what every setup feature does?

I'm kind of lost in bCd and I.

What the hell does the factory test on do, and those bCd any explanation of that table?

    I'm clueless.

Some of this is described in the sticky on top http://www.radardetector.net/viewtopic.php?t=11240
    (I) is VR's first stab at pop and only lasted one version, don't worry about it no one really knows.
b,C,d are dip switches for controlling what onset of time you want before you hear regular volume on K band, so by picking arrows down on 7 and b you will not get regular volume on K band unless the signal strength threshold reaches 4 LED's or the signal has lasted longer than thirty seconds, whichever occurs first.

So basically b C and d only deal with k band volume levels (depending on signal strength)? I won't change any of these settings.

No worries then , I've never had a K-band encounter in my country. At least for the 2 months I've had the V1.

    Thanks V1 Dave.

Being from PR, the only X encounters I have are from stores, and all of the Ka band encounters are not instant-on(Disabling pop would eliminate J's right?). I have seen well over 20 J's and all of them confirmed crapra's.

Since you seem like a knowledgable guy, should I disable POP, X Band and put Ka in a more responsive mode?

Disabling POP won't get rid of "J" alerts but it will decrease them significantly and I have mine disabled. Yes, disable X band if not in use in your area and I have my Ka set to more responsive so that I pay more attention to the alerts.

The settings of the V1 that I have on my signature are IMPO the best way to operate the V1

Thanks Jazzy, I'll disable X and put Ka to more responsive and leave POP alone.

I also forgot to ask what does the 6 in the setup do?

OK I am guessing that you don't have (I) if you have a (J) setting as you can't have both.
Turning POP off or (J) will give you some fewer false alerts but it will not turn off the "J"unk feature, only (6) the Ka false alarm guard will do this but the trade off is way too many false alarms on Ka band, seems no one can drive around with the Ka guard off.
You will have to put up with the constant "J"unk outs.
Go with happya$$ settings and possibly add (1) X-off
