by the way, Option 6 is down on mine, so its more responsive.

More Responsive = Lights
Not actual function of the detector.
i wasnt talking of KA response option.. of which i dont know which number it is. Obviously I dont have a V1 but i am buying it in a few weeks. I think that video was referring to the guard on option.Originally Posted by Serg

No, I personaly dont think so !Do V1s have abnormal tendency to break and or require service more than the Belscorts?
Yes, read this http://www.radardetector.net/viewtop...ight=safeguardAnd can this J out option simply be completely off?
The other day I got a J, it kept flashing but the strenght meter was at 5-6 dots, when the J disappeared it kept telling me a cop was ahead... and sure enough a cop was using Ka and my radar j'ed a crapra and still alerted me of the leo.

I just replaced my 6th 8500/8500 X50 (because of countless self cal/ serviece required messages) with a V1 and couldn't be happier. I went through and reprogramed the V1 to my liking, and it dosn't alert to anymore non leo sources than my X50 did. Although it does alert to the falses longer, because of greater sensitivity and range (in my exerience anyway). Plus the arrows are great, not only for determinine were a leo is, but also for identifying falses. Also, I have never had any trouble with ghosting on the V1, even from Ka sources, which my Belscorts always did. People tend to bash the V1 and say that it's circitry is antiquated, but you shold look at some past threads were actual engineers compare the two, and you will find that the detection circitry is more advanced than the competition. The only improvements I could see are: better visual band identifiers, and a small text display for programming, and other secondary functions. Also, I think that the audio tones sound much more like a professional piece of equipment than other detectors. You should give it a try, you can always return it if you don't like it. Thats my $.02 anyway. I don't want to be flamed for being a zombie, I just find the V1 to be more suited to my driving style and location.
i drove to Palatka Fl today (50 E of Gainsville). on the way down i got 1 J, and that was to a state tropper :? .
on a side not, it was great other than that. got 1.3 miles from instant on Ka and 1.6 miles on another instant on Ka. and some great K detections.
Ok , it j'ed trooper, but.. did it first warn of trooper than j ? If this is so, than, not a big deal i think. Warning is number 1.Originally Posted by A-TownNavi
Its option 5 not 6 that makes the V1 ramp up faster on Ka band.
no guys i was talking of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADRoA...elated&search=Originally Posted by CactusMan
