V1 vs. Beltronics RX65

I'm looking into buying a radar detector and I'm pretty new to this whole thing, but I've been doing quite a bit of research. I'm looking at either the beltronics rx65 or the V1 as my first radar detector. I've heard about the false alerts of the V1 and its reputable accuracy and detection. I do a lot of highway driving between Maryland and Pennsylvania and a friend of mine was pulled over and ticketed for going 72 on a 65...which is why I am here. Which device would you guys suggest?

Honestly, highway driving (and very little city) sounds like a V1 to me, not just because you want me to say that because your posting in the V1 forum, its just because thats where the V1 works best... its not great in the city IMO.

Both work great but i like the V1 compared to my other detectors

Yeah, V1's are extremely 'chatty' in the city, despite a plethora of settings the V1 offers I have never been able to get it to be as nice to use in the city as my Belscorts...

With that said the falses are just something you will have to deal with, no matter what version of the V1 you get (or even what detector you get)... plus no need to worry about the false alerts on the highways...

I would worry more about the 'E' error right now anyways, then again VR has top-notch CS and will replace the unit free should you get that 'E' in the first year.

Yeah but you an easily turn on a k-band auto mute to take care of it
