Default Disabling X Band increase radar sensitivity?

I knew I read before somewhere that if I disable X Band it will increase radar sensitivity. Is that a myth or is it true?

I am pretty sure in Arkansas they do not use X Band.... Can anyone else confirm? Thank you.

Technically it -could-. But since X-Band is so narrow and takes up such a small portion of the overall sweep, any potential difference would be extremely small.

My recommendation: Don't turn off X-Band hoping for increased performance, only turn it off if you are confident that it isn't a threat in your area.

I disabled X and the detection range of K and Ka were the same.

Not to thread hijack or anything, I figured it's along the same lines, but, does turning POP off increase sensitivity? Or is the idea behind turning POP off to decrease the amount of falsing?

I disabled pop and didn't get all the J's but I noticed that the radar detection range decreased a bit.

I have POP disabled as well and the only thing I notice are fewer "J" alerts and Ka band "falses"- could be just my imagination as well.
