    Default Infiniti Cars/Trucks & V1

I was considering getting the V1 for years but I always was loyal to Escort and I never had any problems with Escort but I thought it was time for a change. I own an Infiniti QX56 (Big Truck) and Infinit M45 (Luxury Sedan). I read on this forum that the Infiniti Cars/Trucks set off the V1 with false laser alerts because of the cruise control with lasers. I was wondering if any Infiniti owners can verify this. I have that feature on my car & truck but I do not use it. I live in New York and since there is so much traffic it is very hard to use cruise control. Does the cruise control on the Infiniti's set off the V1 even if you do not use it or do you have to be using the Cruise Control to set off the V1?

    Thanks In Advance

My experience is, V1 alerted to laser even in traffic areas where the cruise control is not neccessary - i got i brief laser alert when i meet the infinity SUV in city streets where PSL is only 45 mph. I assume that laser cruise control was not used due to traffic and speed limits. The only way to know is to try it. VR gives you a 30 day money back gaurantee.

The FX series with the Intelligent Laser Cruise set off my V1 every time. It has now become the first thing I look for when I get a laser alert.

Many of these encounters have been back roads. I would "guess" that they are not driving with cruise control on. So, the laser may always be present.

The laser is always present, regardless of if they are using the cruise control or not. It's part of the collision avoidance system, where it pressurizes the brakes when it senses that you're about to hit something.

Maybe it's also to sense the irate V1 user with a baseball bat about to take out the laser sensor.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

But thats all from being behind the car, if he is driving the Infiniti himself, I wouldn't imagine the lasers have that much reflection to come back and hit the V1, so I wouldn't imagine a problem.

Are there any Infiniti owners out there who are using a V1 and can shed some light?

I believe I recall a post here of an Infinity owner having a problem with his V1 and the laser from his Infinity. Try using the Search.

If you live in a major city and have used escorts for a long time you should probably stay with them. I don't think you will like the v1 in a city.

Yes, they set off the V1. You should disable yours for the good of all V1 owners.

You can always turn off the Laser feature (option 4 down) if they don't use laser in your area. If they do use laser, you should get a jammer, if they are legal in your area.
