What is the most sensitive mode? I don't need any K band muting at this point.
I always run in A mode, so I have never noticed that. How much difference do you notice? If you notice a significant difference I may have to try that to see if mine does the same thing.

My understanding is that Ka sensitivity is not changed by any mode setting. K band sensitivity is not changed, but reporting (and muting) of K band signals can be changed in the programming mode. And of course the signals from the rear K band antenna can be ignored with certain settings. If you are not watching the display, then you may not notice a brief weaker K band signal if it is muted. That would seem to reduce your instant on protection so I have been reluctant to experiment with K band muting.

I have not noticed any difference as of yet, I just read this info in a post somewhere, but can't remember where. I will play around with different settings and see what happens. I have a K band gun and my buddy is a state Cop using MPH Ka so I will test using each mode on the V1.
    Cool! Keep us posted!

Good idea. Please keep us posted. I also wonder if they are finally going to get rid of their K-55 X band radars LOL! They are fewer in number but there still may be some around. Some local PDs and county sheriffs are still using them.

I would also ask him if they still have VASCAR installed in some of their cruisers.

Knowing someone in law enforcement is a great information resource. When they realize you are a radar geek they will share information with you.

Okay GTO, here is the latest update and it aint good. Yes, I said aint. Firstly, my Trooper friend was unsure if they were in transition of new Ka band guns or not, but he did say that they are in the process of getting new cars (white) and a new Ka (kustom) would not be out of the question. I have seen a few of the new white cars in my area already. I would think that you would see more since they usually start things earlier in the Indianapolis area(being the main headquarters and all). Now the really bad news. My Trooper buddy said that he was running signal 30 (speed trap) with his seargent and he was definitely targeting vehicles with his laser gun through the sideview mirror . He said his sergeant lifts his trunk up so his lights can't be seen and when he has a customer, he takes off and the force from the acceleration closes the trunk. He also stated that his sergeant can target other lanes by shifting the position of his mirror  . I have not seen much laser in my area but it is starting to become more and more popular. My buddy says that they usually only run laser on special projects, but is going to get more and start using them more  . Another heads up is that the ISP will sit on the side of the highway at night posing as a disabled vehicle with their hazards on while running traffic. My buddy know RD's work and is always trying to come up with ways to circumvent them. I told him that he needs to visit this board sometime because after all he really is a good guy and officer and would be beneficial to the forum.

Thanks for the update! That is true about the white cars, but I've only seen a few of them. Just as long as they don't get Impalas. Crown Vics are easier to spot and white will help increase their visibility.

It may be easier to challenge laser tickets if they are targeting vehicles through the side mirror. That just seems to be a dubious method. doing that may increase laser scatter too. ISP is using laser more in Marion County (Indy) but not so much in the outlying areas. I live in the area covered by the Pendleton post and they have maybe one or two lasers for a 3 county area.

The trick where they park with the trunk lid up is interesting. They are doin that to be more stealthy, but they complain because some people are plowing into them when they're parked by the side of the road! There is a big campaign going on to remind people of the "move over law" and they have billboards up showing where a semi plowed into an ISP cruiser. It was a slick top with no overhead lights. The seargeant must not feel that endangered if he is parking with his trunk lid up! :?
