    Default BMW 750 LI winshield

Been 3 weeks since I got my first V1, after few weeks of receving a warning from the rear and sides and none from the front, VI is not receving any thing from the front due the type of windshield I have. I have it mounted up high close to rear mirror, but can't get it in the two locations are available where there is no infrared reflecting glass , which are 4" to the left and to the right of the rear mirror with 1" of clearence which the V1 will not fit. I have 4 days before my 30 days I can return it for a full refund, don't want to do that. IS there any way I can monut it and get a front reception??
    Desprate!!!

    Thanks,

Get a new windshield without the metallic, or dump the car, or remote the V1 at the front end grill.

    Hello,

I bought a Bel Rx65 almost 6 months ago and I was wondering why it didn't seem to work that well. Can I ask you if you're sure the 750 has a IR filter on the windshield? I have a 2006 model...

I tried to find out but google didn't help much and I just read your thread about it.

BTW, how did you resolve your problem?

Thanks for your input in advance.

The v1 fits perfect in the space above the rear mirror, right side. you notice to the left and to the right just above the rear mirror there is no film on the windsheild. The V1 fits up there without sucion cups, also I taped into the dome light wires just above where the V1 rests, its great turns on with the igntion and turns off 10 minutes after car turns off. the only thing the V1 is pointing about 20 degrees up, so far no problem, as for the other bands the V1 is receving a signal with plenty of time to react. I have not encountered laser since I moved it up,yes I got tagged when I had it mounted on the windsheild ZERO warning.

you should have really read that book that comes with your car, called a manual

there are two areas on the windshield where you can install a radar (or a radar-like device). one is around the rear view mirror. another is a little trapezoid cut out between two dashboard humps. you can see them at the right angle. i have my V1 mounted there (and hardwired into passenger foot well sig lighter). it works perfectly!!!

any more question, PM me or check on: http://bimmer.roadfly.com/bmw/forums/e65/

Could you please post some pictures of where did you tap in for the hot wire in the dome light fixture?

    Thanks.

it almost looks like the bottom of the windshield and the hood itself does not give the V-1 complete line of sight down the road. Not good if that is the case.
