    Default buying from e bay

I am considering maybe buying the Valentine off from e bay?

would anyone reccomend that? did all of you got the V1 from V1 itself?

since the V1 is not available at any store nationwide.

Another thing, when you guys say turn pop off or on, is that as simple as a single push on the button?

I live in Ohio, but work in Michigan...right between borders...
I have notice either in Ohio or Michigan...the cops or highway patrols have almost 95% of the time a laser gun in their hands...is that now considered X BAND???

    I am still learning...

I have sold two V1s on Ebay and received more than I paid for them new from the source. Never had a problem.
If I lived in Ohio I would make the trip directly to the source and pick up a refurb.

    Radar Guns:
    x , k , ka

LIDAR just light pulses at 904/905 nm.

    Two completely separate things.

Your V1 ( when you buy one) will differentiate each type by separate LEDS
    telling you the threat.

    Good luck

You are better off buying a returned unit from Valentine 1($360) directly cause it will be the most uptodate and have a warranty..,The units on Ebay might be older versions which require you to upgrade making your total cost for a brand spanking new unit more to cost you than it would to buy from Valentine 1 in the first place

If you are looking at some on ebay, ask the seller to provide you the serial number. Then go to the V1 site and check to see that it's the most current version and if not, what it would cost to bring it up to current.

Otherwise you could end up buying an old one that is outdated.

and from what I've read on here, Ohio uses a lot of airplanes to check your speed, so look out for that too.

No matter what countermeasures you might have, you'll need to routinely scan the sides of the roadway (shoulders) for the tell-tale white markers, spaced 1/4 mile apart for 4 consecutive stretches.

    VASCAR, and likely air-enforced.

    :?

    Buying from ePay:

Most of the time, the V1 on there are older, needing $$$ to get up anywhere near the newest one. IF you do decided to go that route, get the SN and run it to see what the cost would be.

IMHO, I would get on list for returned unit. Cheaper in the long run.

    Take care,

True, so does FL - only seen it NB though, I guess it's the leaving FL tax. White airplane at relatively high altitudes, so you can't see it unless you have good eyes and are specifically looking for it. Ohio aircraft are much lower and red and white and in my opinion are easy to spot, but you do have to look up. If there are lines on the roadway (or shoulder), look up occasionally.
