Should I upgrade?

I just bought a V1 without pop from my friend a few days ago and Iam wondering if its worth spending the 75$ to upgrade to the version with POP. I live in Michigan and i have no idea if the cops over here use them... so if anyone has any tips for me!!!

POP is still an emerging technology and the detector manufacturers haven't perfected it yet. I'd wait a while and see what happens with it unless you know for sure that it's being used in your area.

Where do you live in MI? It's not being used around my area.

You won't need POP right now. But they use a lot of instant on, so pay attention to the signals (on the highway especially) that alert you for a second or two and then go away. ESPECIALLY between Ithaca and St. Johns on 127.

You can also turn X-band off for your area. If you ever travel out of state, you'll want to turn X-band back on. If you go the U.P., probably couldn't hurt either. I don't know what they use up there, I haven't been up there in ages.
