Default My 3.861 = Barely any drone alerts

I always hear v1 getting such a bad rep for picking up excessive amounts of drones (x band and k band). Strangely enough, my v1 rarely ever picks up drones.

I have my x band turned off but I still dont think I really pick up that many drones. It stil picks up k band in the usual spots that my Bel did but not really any more cases of drone alerts than before. However, the first few days I did pick up k band alerts in a some weird places.

I no longer get these strange alerts any more though even when I frequent the locations where they first happened. Isolated incidents i guess........

    Any explanations?

I'm also still waiting for a legit k band threat as I havnt really been around the normal spots they like to patrol with K.

Does your V1 go off to k band Radar, it should respond to K band drones, did you accidently turn off K band detection? Could be possible that there maybe a problem with your antenna? I also have the V1 3.861 and it does go off to K band drones and K band door openers.

You simply don't have one. If you did, you'll know it. Why? The V1 does not choose a certain type of radar source. If it is within the K band frequency, it will pick it up and alert you that a K band source is present. The V1 is one of the best if not the best in detecting K band signals.

Phillip, I gave you some advise about dealing with actual freeway drones, I hope you did not read it wrong and are using maximum codes to kill all K band in Fresno?

There are no freeway drones in Fresno - yet. He is referring to K band falses (automatic doors etc.)

NO worries Dave. I havnt messed with the K band tones yet.

And leo 68, we have tons of k band drones such as albertsons and pretty much any place with electric doos. I'm not saying I dont get done alerts at all, i'm just saying they are no more frequent than they were on my Bell.

I was expecting the V1 to be alerting like crazy all the time to these drones. Anyway, it doesnt so I'm happy. I also got another ka alert today so i'm now confident that Ka is working well

My V1 3.861 falses less on K and Ka then my older V1 and X band falsing are the same. Have been using the V1 since 1994 and has paid for itself many times over.

I'm sorry Leo68, i actually meant that toward Azonehits. I said the wrong name in my last post. I'm sure hte V1 has gotten better with falses. The thing I can't understand is why it would be less sensitive on K band according to tests. I believe it was Jimbonzz that was playing with them recently and apparently the 3.813 was about 200 feet quicker at detecting K band. Once again, the two runs he made could have just been isloated instances. I'm not saying one way or the other. Each new version had slightly worse performance (although minimal overall) over the two runs.

And yea, x band is a *****. We don't have it here so I turned it off from almost day one. The falses were insane as to be expected.

Radar detectors can very, even if they are the same revision you can test five 3.813 and get five different results, some being more sensitive then others. If you think there is a problem contact V1 and ask to talk to a technician. I have two Bel RX65 and the older old is much better at detecting K band then the newer version with the M4 Antenna.

You may need to use the right word for it because it can be confusing when you meant auto door sensors or supermarket and etc. instead of drones.
