As Jim said if you are concerned with your units performance, then call up VR talk to a tech and see what they say... and then send it in if something seems off. It very well could have fallen out of tune... mine did.
As others have said though... its a radar detector and not a cop detector.
I would send it in, I sent mine in last week due to poor performance on K-band. It would either not detect it at all, or at random......also tested it with my K-55. Apparently, something had gone bad inside the unit affecting sensitivity. The fixed it and had it back to me within a few days.
