Although I love the stealthiness of the remote display of my V1. I hate that I have a black box up in my windshield.

After owning the V1 for a couple of months, I now know that I have to have the arrows.

The only other option I have considered is running 2 remote Whistlers (3500's?) one in the front grille and one in the rear bumper. I really want to try this.

Ultimate stealth would be for VR to design an RVM cased V1. Then all you need to do is replace the RVM and hardwire it.

Yes, there will be challenges to this of course.

Nope, no central gallery. Maybe I'll add one to the GOL website one of these days

Most of the internal pics are probably from the FCC website. Ever since RD manufacturers have had to meet certain FCC standards, they've had to obtain FCC ids, and submit all of the associated diagrams, test reports, photos, etc., the pictures have been available.

FYI, you can also glean owners manuals and schematics for radar units introduced in the last 10 years or so from the FCC if you're clever enough.

Somebody should really develop a custom shop RD system. A high-end set-up for high-end cars where you bring the car in to the shop and all the components are designed and installed and are completely hidden. A real high-dollar integrated system designed from the ground up. I bet it would sell!

Front laser detection in the grille next to each headlight, front radar detection embedded in the headliner just above the edge of the windshield, rear laser detection attached to the ledge above the license plate, rear radar detection embedded in the headliner just above the edge of the rear window. It would be AWESOME!

I would prefer the laser sensors up high in a custom system like that. That would be the only hope of catching a stray laser signal bounced off another car prior to being hit yourself. Having it mounted low would just be a ticket notifier IMO.

^ I'll second that, for precisely DeadlyAP1's cited reason, but I would also like the laser sensors to remain at the most vulnerable spots as JDS mentioned.

I guess I want both contingencies covered. ops:

True. The more laser sensors the better!

Honestly, if we're talking about an ideal system, then yes, you could have a sensor next to each headlight AND a third front sensor up above the windshield.

This thing would be expensive as all hell, but I'd buy it as soon as I had enough money.
