    Default Valentine One is awesome...

I have been using a Valentine one for a few years now per a recommendation from a motor head buddy of mine. After hard wiring it in, its become a part of the car now, and I feel naked when driving a car without one.

Anyway, this past weekend on a trip to Iowa City, I was heading on 80, and 88, and I got my rear end saved big time thanks to my Valentine one!

First instance was a laser, a local cop was sitting parked on the middle of an overpass hitting the traffic westbound. I was picking up laser scatter for quite some distance, so I slowed down from 80 to 65 and then finally he hit me dead on...thankfully I was already at the posted limit. Second time I was getting faint Ka pickup about a quarter of a mile ahead of a bridge...again slowed down, and lo and behold there was a state trooper parked in the culvert between the separated highway just after a small bridge...what a hiding spot...

There was some guy who blew right past me with...shockingly...a Cobra on his windshield. Which by the way was giving me false alerts every time we passed each other....I am really starting to dislike cobra for making poorly engineered products.

    awesome story and great saves!

if you think cobra is pathetic wait until you see what Q3 Logic rolls out. Makes Cobra look like a high end detector. yes IT's that bad.

I currently have the 3.826 version in my car which has pop detection, and the "J" "feature"...but in in my other cars I have 3.813 version....what is the big hype about this revision, or would I be better off by turning off the POP feature?

You should probably send that into v1's moment's archives... Great story though.

It seems as if 3.813 and 3.826 are the 2 highy regarded versions for the V1. Are there any differences in performance that you can tell between the two?

The only major difference I can see is I seem to get many more false Ka alerts on the 3.826 compared to the 3.813. But in its' defense, they usually get "J'd" out...rarely is there ever a false Ka on the 3.813. Performance wise they are pretty darn close, no real noticeable differences.

I believe the 3.813 is supposedly somewhat better. But yea, I think 3.826 has quite a few fans also.

The 3.813 never gets j's and the arrows are always dead on (or so people say ).

It also lets you communicate with dead relatives. To do this, hold down volume knob while rubbing the black plastic lens in the back, now start calling out the relatives name and the arrows will start going crazy, you will then be able to communicate through your radio. NOTE: your 3.813 V1 MUST be near your radio for this to work!
