Default 3.813 big L nice filtering.

After doing some testing today with a 3.813, 3.826 & 3.861 I was able to determine a nice touch to the 3.813. Before I say anything else there is no advanced programming on my 3.813. It is in factory default other than option 5 which is ka more responsive. I had The Veil Guy & Happyass both confirm before doing the testing.

before I go any further, I did not run them at the same time because I'm tired of hearing all the crap on here while I'm out having fun.

but to get to the point, the 3.813 has the ability to filter K band in Big L. I was setting in a parking lot with 2 known x & 1 k automatic doors. I tuned the 3.813 to big L and it went quiet. It did not report to any automatic door. I then tuned it to A mode and it reported all 3.

I then turned on the 3.826 and put it in big L. it managed to filter out 1 of the x band doors, but did not filter out the K band door. So it was reporting 2 bogeys 1 each, X & K. I then put it in A mode and it showed all 3.

Floss, Rinse & repeat with 3.861.

I then moved to another area with 1 known K band false.

I put the 3.813 in Big L and it filtered it out. I then changed it to A mode and it reported the K band.

For the 3.826 & 3.861 they both reported the K band door in big or little l.

I don't know if this a design feature of the 3.813, or if it was a bug. But I have verified my findings with happya$$'s 3.813 and they are consistent on filtering K band.

In closing nothing we have tested can touch my 3.813 on X band. It's beating happya$$'s 3.813, and a 3.826 & 3.861 on X and some times by as much as 5 seconds.

so far so good for this little guy.

I have not had the chance yet to see if it will report to an officers K band, so we are going to go drive a few hundred miles to test it out some more.

Interesting that the 3.813 version filters k band while in "L" mode.

I believe what jimbonzz stated that all 1.8 version filters K band in small L and big L. Even with muted progrmimg. Do sit in your car and go to a K band source. Let the timed muted volume expire in small L until it unmutes. Change setting to big L and notice you won't get an alert in K band.

You will get the K band alert again in 'L' when the timer expires. When you go from 'l' to 'L' the timer resets.

Did you know there is a ten-second reset time period?
Once muted V1 will not alert to regular volume until you have lost all signals for ten-seconds, or reset unit w/power cycle.
Bogy lock tone will alert to new threats during this.

Its better to run in little L so you can see the alert but not necessarily have to hear it. Utilize the k band automuting and then you can have your muted alert be as loud (or as silent) as you want depending on where you set the muted volume lever. Use thirty seconds or whatever length you want (I use thirty). Its absolutely a way of life where i live

I can guarantee you that L filtering on 3.813 is different than any other V1 version that I have seen
