    Default Stolen V1?

I just purchased a V1 on eBay not knowing of the possibilities or the effects of a stolen one. I'm kind of worried now. I won the auction but I haven't paid for it yet. I plan on calling Valentine 1 on Monday to see if it is stolen. The only way for it to be reported stolen is if the original owner claims it is, correct? Let's say the original owner didn't call in and make that claim, then it wouldn't matter?
If it is stolen, once confirmed by Valentine, is there a way I can retract from the auction on eBay by telling them it is a stolen item?

    Thanks in advance!

SURE CAN, IF NOT DONT PAY..But the only way to know if its stolen is to send it to v-1...
Sorry but thats sorta what I am going thru right now..
Thats also what I understand, I do not know if it is possible for you yourself to find out if its stolen in anyway, im sure valentine does not give that kind of info out to customers. They want us to buy direct from them....My guess is not many valentines are reported stolen if they are stolen...Im getting ready to receive mine as i got no box for it and it only comes with the cord and suction cups.Im weary but not worried about it though cause, I probably will not send it in to v-1 i will put it back on ebay before v-1 gets it , 350.00 is alot of cash ...cya

Thanks for your input. I have a feeling that the original owner, if stolen, probably wouldn't report it as stolen anyway to avoid the hassle and the chances of it even coming back to him probably would seem slim. Unless he was a well informed V1 user...then it would be a different story. If he knows his serial number, he could easily search around on eBay and find his radar detector. I hope I'm just over analyzing all of this and all goes well. Good luck on your ordeal!

Gosh. Next time I am definitely going to do more research before buying on eBay again. I really want to keep the V1 though...

If someone sells V1 and cig.light coiled cord adapter, without direct cord,sun-visor clip, hardwire adapter and denies to show serial No.,then there is reason to suspect it's maybe stolen.

In that case I wouldn't bother bidding V1,no matter how low the price is.
Anyways, that's only my opinion...for what is worth

Sigh, I agree with you. I wasn't really aware of all of this before I purchased one. I guess my only hope is if the original owner doesn't report it as stolen.
