Just bought my first v1
Had a couple questions, i drive a lifted truck and i wanted to mount my v1 by the tent at the top of my windshield near the mirror, just wondering if that would be to high to mount it. Really dont want to go threw the troubles of taking it off everytime i park.
Well that would be a really good place for radar but no so good for laser. I would still mount it as high as you can.
Yeah you're screwed with laser unless you have a jammer and other countermeasures for it.
Keep it high for radar.
I know it's a pain to take down everytime... but watch out... detectors are stolen all the time... and the heat probably will hurt it over time too... It's a huge pain but I take mine down every time I get out.

Dude the V1 can handle a real high mount. In my old coach I use to mount the sucker under the front monitor which would be at lest 6 or 7 foot above the bottom of the window srceen and then another 3 of 4 feet to the number plate it still detected laser from cop's Mate the Units ARE AMAZING.
i got a lifted dodge with 35's, shes my baby.
monster truck right there...if i was gonna get a dodge pick up id have to get the srt-10 ram :twisted:
Good choice my friend. I've had all of the top 3 radar detectors and V1 is my top choice. Mount high....Mount High
Be careful or the awesomeness of the V1 might cause you to become a v1 Zombie (means you become overly obsessed with the awesome capabilities of the v1 and feel all other detectors are inferior to it).
how should i program it for houston?
